Ms Sara Bell Dip. HE (Adult Nursing), BSc. (Hons), MPH
Sara Bell has been a registered nurse for 18 years, working in the areas of HIV, sexual health, reproductive health, gynaecology and general practice in both clinical and policy posts. Sara currently holds the position of Clinical Nurse Consultant working within the Queensland Government Department of Health where she manages the Queensland HIV Point of Care Testing Program.
Sara has a drive to improve individual and public health outcomes based on evidence, through effective partnerships and collaborations with a diverse range of stakeholders. Her particular interests include research to direct policy development, program implementation and evaluation and the improvement of data collection and reporting mechanisms.
Sara’s current and previous employment has seen her effectively combined clinical expertise, public health knowledge and project management skills to plan, implement and evaluate a variety of services, programs and projects addressing sexual health and HIV in Queensland and the UK. Sara has been closely involved in the development of State and National HIV and Sexual Health Strategies and Implementation Plans in addition to contributing to numerous other State, Commonwealth and partner documents and reports.
Sara provides training related to HIV point of care testing and has tutored undergraduate students in statistical methods in health and advanced research methods. Sara, originally from the UK, lives in Brisbane and enjoys the daily challenges of raising a young daughter with her partner.
